Bravo, Matthew! Im so glad you stepped up and said this. I have never quite understood why music is so segregated. It is revolting when you really think about it. Also, kind of counterintuitive given both rock n roll’s and R&B’s origins. People like to pigeonhole, and even beyond this “gate-keeping” of R&B, people just take genre way too seriously. How can music evolve if things cant blend, if rules are not broken?
